"There was a boy, a very strange and enchanted boy. They said he wandered very far, very far, over land and see. A little shy, and sad of eye, but very wise was he..."
NATURE BOY - A Fernando Torres fanmix by en-prosa.
Listen to it HERE on 8tracks.
- The inclusion of “Cornerstone” was inspired by this Informe Robinson special on Atlético de Madrid (fast-forward to 06:12 to get to Fernando’s part and to 06:53 to the start of the song).
- Here’s the most accurate translation I could find of “Te Dejo, Madrid” by Shakira in case anyone’s interested.
- Needless to say, all of these songs remind me of Fernando in one way or another, be it one specific moment in his career, triumphs and failures, particular character and personality traits, the way he’s made me feel through my journey as a fan, etc. I tried to create a balance between the good and the bad times (a balance between “I’ll never give up” and “I became the player I’d always hated”, basically), but I admit I might’ve failed and I apologize if it ends up being a bit too depressing for some tastes.
- Feedback is always welcomed. Enjoy!
Also, many thanks to dreamofthecelt for providing these HQ pictures of baby Fernando, song suggesting, constant encouragement, and overall badassery.
So please, people, I beg you…be a human being and not a “killer” and spread positivity instead of hate.
I’m especially looking at the rude Torres-critics over there. Think about how your words may psychological effect even a mentally strong person like Torres, who is probably checking through hashtags once in a while and reads newspaper articles about himself and is ALSO struggling with his issues without your words, you making fun of him and without you insulting him additionally.
Just look at that and it tells you everything:
A person might try to seem casual and unimpressed about critics, but in reality you can see his struggle and how much he occupies with it. You can see by the wording of this that he sees the glass as half-empty and not full. Even his body language speaks for itself. He’s a human for fucks sake.
And maybe he’ll find back to his old form, maybe he won’t. It certainly also depends on how publicity and especially “fans” are treating him and whether they’re feeding the lack of his confidence further.
ngl I really worry about him and this subject all the time…. especially with Mourinho as the manager.
